Tying a Sash into a Perfect Bow

Awhile back I stumbled onto some instructions for tying a sash into a perfect bow. Princess, being a five year old little girl, looooves twirly dresses with big bows in the back. Usually I'm lucky enough to find dresses that have the sash permanently tied into a bow (often attached with a button) but this year's Christmas dress (from Gymboree) left it up to me to get the bow up to Princess's standards. Luckily I had my handy instruction chart! (Click on the picture to make it bigger)
It really is so easy with these instructions in front of you!
Oh wait, let me get her hair out of the way--can you believe how long it is?! Granted, the sash ties a bit above her waist, but still...her hair is getting loooong!
Okay, I probably should have redone it to get the ends the same length, but I didn't. And, I'm happy to say, the sash is very secure with this method. It didn't come undone at all!

  2. Carrie, that way has worked for me in the past--but not so much any more now that Princess is so tall! I need to be able to see what I'm doing. :)

  4. It's a good skill to have around, this bow-tying thing. My daughter is turning into a little girl who loves pretty things...I guess I better start learning! :)
