Joy at Joys of Home is having a Paint Party where you're supposed to show off what you've done with spray paint. Bonus points if you use something other than black. No bonus points for me though...I've just begun the spray paint phase of my life and have only used black thus far! I have to say, I'm very impressed with how easy it is to use spray paint and definitely see more spray paint in my future!
I posted these pictures back at the beginning of the summer, but I'm still thrilled with the "after", so I'm sharing them again. I'm anti-oak (despite my oak kitchen cabinets...that's another project waiting to happen!) and just love the look of these now that they're painted black. They match my iron chandelier much better now!
Here's the before picture...including drying laundry!
And here is the after picture...what a difference! I painted the candleholders as well as the mirror frame.
And here is the view from my front door...well, this was the view--I've made some decorating changes, but this is basically what it looks like now.

I will have to join the party when I return. Can't wiat to see what everyone else does!
have a wonderful week,
Krista
That came out very nice. I have yet to attempt to spray paint a mirror, I just think bad things would happen...it would no longer be a mirror when I got done with it..it would all be spray painted along with the frame, I just know it ;)
I remember this post from when you first posted it..remember the laundry too...because I have the same laundry issues, lol. My delicates are draped all over my Family Room, it's quite a decorating statement, I think ;)

Looks great! The mirror just pops now.
P.S. I love the blue stars, they looks so great bunched together.
The mirror looks great. I love your stars in the living room too!
Thank you for visiting my blog! I love your mirror makeover! It all ties together so nicely!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
I love the black mirror with the sconces! Great idea!
Wow what a difference a little paint made. Love it. Don't ya just love that for a couple of bucks you can have such a change?
Great makeover. It all flows now and those stars are so pretty clustered together.

You've turned that wall into such a beautiful focal point!
You may be a novice now, but you'll be a pro with spray paint very soon, especially when your projects turn out as wonderful as this one did.
Thank you for showing it off for us.
You gotta start somewhere and black is an easy and safe color to start with! i love the way it turned out. Really made it show up against the wall.
Yep, you'll be a pro in no time with the spray paint. Thanks for stopping by to see me!

Love the sconces! They turned out great~
I did sand my table, but mostly just to take the shine off. I have a cheap electric sander and medium grit sandpaper. I use flat spray paint (its a bit more forgiving) and then for a strong finish I use Johnson's Paste Wax. You just use it like car wax. It leaves a great sheen, but not shiny. Good Luck!
The mirrow looks great, and the stars looks very nice as a grouping.
Blessings, Virginia
What a wonderful transformation on the mirror and sconces! You have a cute blog! :) ~RHonda
That looks spectacular. Love your barn stars..I have them sprinkled throughout my home. I don't believe I have ever been here..I am Cherry...that Joy mentioned. Love your blog. cherry
Your mirror stands out from the walls now. Looks very nice.
I love that before and after. I remember how great it looked the first time I saw it, I can tell you have a beautiful home with your fun paint jobs and beautiful window treatments.
Yep, the black sure does make it POP. Very nice idea!!! Thanks for visiting me-

Fun! I love mirrors. I love decorating with them. When nothing else will work, a good ole mirror always comes to the rescue! :)
I wanted to let you know that your apron will be in the mail this week! Sorry it has been a little late - last week was crazy busy for me! :)
Mirror looks great! I love a black spray paint!
I like it as much the second time seeing it as I did the first! :o)
That looks really nice! It all goes so well! Jen R
I still think that it looks great! It added some much more visual weight over the old finish.
Thanks for coming by my blog today. Once you start using spray paint you look at everything with a new eye. Oh the possibilities!

Hi,
The project looks great. I think black was the color of choice here!
Happy spray painting,
Diane
Great black mirror....I haven't painted a frame on a mirror yet....
I love all of your barn stars!
Oh no, that baby is not "little Whitney" - she is not my baby - hahaha. She is my best friends, thus the reason I am labled "Auntie Whitney"....
I have no children yet.
I joined the party late! The scones and mirror look great - you can really see them against the wall. I've never spray painted a mirror but I imagine it makes it easier to get into the nooks and crannies.

The black really pulled it all together. It looks great.
The paint job just ties it all together. Great job. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for your comment. I have so many vinyl saying throughout my home...the first part of the quote you saw says, "The best things in life aren't free," then I have my kid's pics hung in a row, and below it says, "they're priceless." I'll have to put a picture of it in a post.

Oh, sooo much better! It really makes the room flow better, and it looks WAY more expensive! :) Great job!!
